I want to refererence briefly back to the " Facebook Friend Or Foe " post down a bit on this page. After seeing the abuse of pictures on YB, I started to congratulate myself for being right. No point in posting them for Shirley to twist and turn ugly, besides which I don't think the " payback" is all that much for high turnover shelters. That said, it appears the upper management has decided to finally back it's manager and support the shelter from the animal rightists. Mr. Pepper was on the right track, but the Mayor hadn't got his belly full yet, I think by now,the administration has figured out that there is no pleasing the Biscuit Bunch, so why bother. Shirley is not a Stakeholder in Memphis, nor is she truly interested in Memphis or animals in general, her agenda is Nathan Winograd.
What most of us are seeing is simply a path of destruction, no goal, no plan, Winograd doesn't even have a manager type to install unless he wants to fob Reno's goofy Mitch Schneider off on MAS. How sad that would be, having come so close to getting rid of all dealings with the Biscuit, only to end up with Mitch. Shall we say a prayer the Mr. Rogers stays? I have invited any and all to go to delawarecapa.blogspot/ to get a good look at Reno, you will see what I have tried to say over the years here. No Kill is a spiritual and financial disaster.
I love the concept of background and home checks for strong breeds, the volunteers are amazing in their dedication to bringing sustainable change with realistic expectations.. Mr. Winograd is trying to stoke his engines in Sacramento and we are ready for him, hang in there Memphis, it's been a long fight, but it's starting to look like Mr. Winograd may have to get a day job yet. On the Mama dog, she looks like a typical sweet faced fighting dog, and we all know the better the fighter the more they are bred. At her old age I would say this was her last litter, I would let her go in peace. You don't rehome fighting dogs and even if she wasn't a pro she definitely fought, and since she is still up and about, I would say quite well. I hope Memphis takes Mama dog as a clue to get the pictures off PetHarbor, the demographics don't support the trouble they are bringing.. I know when Reno stands on it's hind legs the NKNJ's are going to rip them to pieces too. Almost there Bonney Brown, almost making you pay your way and do your job or move on.

Good Lord, It's Good Friday, Let Us Lift Our Voice In Praise..
This is not the place for a sermon, nor shall I turn it sideways to slip one in :) If we can learn to show the same love and compassion for all creatures, we will have walked a step closer to realizing our potential as loving human beings. In the forums it's often the fetus people vs. animal people, or the senior people vs. animal rightist. We are not limited to loving one species at a time. We can care about both human & non human life equally and with respect. For it is in loving another we are allowed to love ourselves, it's through seeing your goodness, that I can recognize my own.
There are those who walk among us who have left their souls on another level, and we are not called to cherish them, but it serves us and those we try to help to understand their sickness. Sometimes there is pure evil thinly disguised as a soul sickness, but we cannot change that with compassion. Our duty is to keep marching onward, tell the truth and helping where we can, and stopping evil in it's tracks.

Adopt A Less Adoptable Pet Week ? Have We Gone Insane.. ??
It's been a while since I have posted, so a brief update. If you are posting links to my blog, please stop, mention me by name as nokilnowaynottomorrownottoday...blogspot but please stop the links from FB and where every else I am getting posted. Listing me in " Blogs I Follow " on your own page is fine. If you have a blog you have a place to mention me.We had a happy ending, but it's taken 3 weeks to get the job done. As a result of the due dilligence of my servers and some others who they worked with, we have shut down 40 spamming IP addresses some overseas. By spammers I mean the real pain in the rump type. The little missus and I were getting close to 600 anon comments a day, most from FB sites as the referring URL. It was not a big deal to zap the NKNJ's, but it was a burden on my server. The resulting loss of IP's and FB privileges for the abusers did, however, bring me joy. So if we still have any YB readers, as Oreo would say " How do ya like me now?" I will not go into the redirecting widgets and such used to power the spam machine, suffice it to say links all over hell and back help the crazy ones. That's why the No Kill folks love to post the links of their opposition. Sermon is over, pass the plate and we will move on to the " message of the day "
Can we say " adopt an unsuitable pet week" ? Oreo sent me a scan of her paper's version and it's not online yet, so just find another one and follow along. Houston has it and so do a few other places where the edge with reality is blurred. This plethora of unadoptable pets is part of the No Kill movement they haven't quite figured out how to handle yet. Usually when the garage sale is over you call the Salvation Army, but thats hard to do with mean and sick animals.
Some hot items you might want to grab right away are " a cat that may live under the bed for a year or so, maybe a cat with food allegies requiring an expensive diet, otherwise she goes bald ? Not the one's ? How about a dog that is hyper-active and needs training who can't be left alone? Please? They offer several dogs that will quit growling at you over time, all needing to be a single pet with no children. Must be lots of those homes hanging around.
I sound angry and I am angry. These animals will be right back in the shelter in less than a week, even the ones NHS is offering a " lifetime health care package at our cost " Beware the " Angel Pets"
I went to Reno last week, I had hoped to sit in on the meeting where Reno is trying to help NHS take over the shelter. It was a small room and I would have stood out so I settled for following the tour. Bonney had outdone herself on cleaning the place up, There must be a truck full of ferals sitting somewhere because the cleaning was literally overnight. It was worth driving through the deluge on the pass to see, just 2 days earlier there was not a countertop that was not covered in cats. Thursday it looked fairly normal, overcrowded, and animals stored in the wrong place, but not filthy. Can they keep it up? Of course not. They have to many unadoptable animals. Making a promotion about them will not solve the problem. The offsite adoptions may work to keep the public from seeing the deplorable conditions at NHS, but sooner or later they will get caught. They have way to many dogs in a pen, Think about that when you consider a donation, maybe use your money on a food they are always short of.
