Animal Control Manager Resigns.

I learned of this last night, and was hoping someone else would put the news out, but since I've received several emails asking, thought it was time for an answer.  The Animal Control Director who  became Nathan Winograd's sidekick has taken an early retirement.  After travel all over the country telling various cities how he took his Animal Control " NO KILL, he was amazed to find out they weren't. It was a testament to delusional thinking, and  a delightful Karma.  He had been in a leasdership position less than 3 years after running off his former supervisior who had given him his first break in the animal services field. Under his leadship the shelter went downhill rather quickly and became a puppet for it's non profit partner.  The shelter struggled for a while, before sucumbing. It survives due  to the excellent leadership by it's previous director Cindy Sabatoni, who had led Reno Animal Services for 28 years prior to taking the county Animal Services Control position. The shelter is in transition and our concerns continue with the overcrowded portion of the building leased to the Non Profit.  This should be a lesson to perservere when things seem insurmountable.  God Speed to this shelter getting back to normal.
