A place to share our joy and love of animals, we learn from them, for them and; most of all we grow with them. Each becoming a better being, for touching spirits. It is the sincere prayer of the authors of this space ( Oreo and Staff ) that we take a step forward aiming always for the preservation of life, but willing to consider the quality of life as well. We must keep a humane eye to all living creatures, animals live in the moment; let us honor and protect that moment for them.

From time to time Oreo defaults to private mode, this is usually after some particularly aggressive attempts by the nut jobs to send a virus our way.
Some of our newer visitors may wish to come with us into our little cave. If you are among that group, send a "not for publication" post with your email address and reference another blog, or news article where you have posted. I will add your email to our list of guests and the next time you hit the block wall, just sign in using your google account. We don't like going to ground at Oreo's, but poor Chap missed the signs and they almost totaled his computer. We are not playing with nice people here, and those of us who have been around for a spell, know that.

- I am patriotic to a fault, and strongly believe that volunteerism built this nation. It will sustain us through this tough economic crisis. I love animals and gardening.... they are not mutually exclusive. I do pallative care for teminally ill persons who often need help to stay in their homes. Relaxing finds me on the swing, book in hand and dogs at feet. I believe we can be the person God intended us to be if we check our ego at the door, and keep working toward out goal.

I apologize for having to moderate the comments, I won't censor views that disagree, but the gutter snipes who are just plain toxo'd out will not take the floor here.....I have screen grabs of every false comment made on the paper and the one here, so if I choose to litigate I am able, that said, the more you sit in trash the worse the stench gets......This is your NHS staff, this is who gets " our animals in need" I don't need to say anything, they are hanging themselves To the person who wrote Debbie Kelly used to have Debbie Kelly Banks on her facebook page, that is not a surprise, but i've no interest in going there..........she is sick, a sick person is to be pitied
Have you seen in the article ? the Ryan dude says it's all about losing their funding."Ryan is adamant that the potential ordinance does not consider the data of the trap, neuter, release programs' national success. Further, the ordinance would affect Washoe County's no-kill status, as more cats would need to be euthanized due to lack of shelter space. The Nevada Humane Society was awarded $1.5 million in grants in 2014 for its animal services programs, but that money is predicated on Washoe County's no-kill community, meaning the county would no longer be eligible for future grants if the ordinance is passed." i live in Sparks and I didn't give anyone permission to use my land for anything, least of all cats.
